"Making Room for Jesus" Will Be Our Lenten Theme

Lent starts on February 11 with Ash Wednesday. (For an overview of Ash Wednesday and Lent, written last year, go here.)

This year's Lenten emphasis will be Making Room for Jesus. Picking up on the theme of spring cleaning so important in the upcoming time of year, we'll prepare ourselves for the celebration of Easter through short daily devotions that are made up of a few simple elements:

• Scripture Reading
• A Few Paragraphs of Reflections
• We Pray
• We Act

Each day, the last section--We Act--gives several possible ways of putting the theme of day into effect. The devotions can be used by individuals. But I hope that families will carve a little time out of their days to read, pray, and act on each devotion.
