Want to See an Ugly Blog?

Go here! I love this site. It acknowledges a fundamental truth about Jesus, as UglyBlogger Eric Holmlund explains:
He [Jesus] grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. Isaiah 53:2 (New International Version)

God chose to save the world through an ordinary-looking man with no physical features that would attract us to Him. He could have sent a glorious king, but he sent a humble servant. Israel mistook Him for an ordinary man. Likewise, Christianity can appear ugly to the world. It’s about an unattractive servant who died on an ugly, rugged cross. Although we can see God’s beauty in nature all around us, we can not know the beauty of Christ until we actually come to that cross and enter into God’s kingdom through Christ Jesus.
Good stuff!
